Poppy Hand-Crafted Popcorn Named Official Popcorn of the Biltmore Championship Asheville

Special-edition collaboration supports MANNA FoodBank and showcases artwork by Asheville High School students

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — September 9, 2026 — Poppy Hand-Crafted Popcorn, an Asheville-based gourmet popcorn company, has been named the Official Popcorn of the Biltmore Championship Asheville, taking place September 17th-20th at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove.

To celebrate the partnership, Poppy and the Biltmore Championship Asheville collaborated on a special-edition popcorn bag created for the tournament, with the partnership also supporting two local organizations.

Poppy and the Biltmore Championship Asheville selected MANNA FoodBank to receive a donation in recognition of the organization's longstanding commitment to serving families and communities across Western North Carolina. The Cliffs at Walnut Cove, host site of the tournament, offered to match the donation, bringing the total contribution to MANNA FoodBank to $6,000.

The special-edition packaging also features graphic elements created in partnership with Asheville High School art teacher Kristina Shriver and students from her art classes. The project gives students the opportunity to see their creativity become part of a major sporting event in their hometown. “At the end of the school year, Ms Shriver presented our class with an assignment that was not just hypothetical but an actual ‘real world project’ - design bags for Poppy Popcorn. What an honor and responsibility! To get the chance to see my own artwork featured on something that people will hold in their hands is incredible, and almost unbelievable! Being a part of this project reinforces my dream to work in a creative field,” said Nia Teshome, a junior at Asheville High School.

Poppy and the Biltmore Championship Asheville will also make a donation to the Asheville High School art department in recognition of their participation.

"We're incredibly grateful to the PGA TOUR for not only bringing this event to Asheville, but for making a real effort to engage with local businesses and find meaningful ways to contribute to our community," said Ginger Frank, founder and CEO of Poppy Hand-Crafted Popcorn. "Everyone had something different they could bring to the table, and together we were able to create something that feels much bigger than a popcorn bag."

"This partnership reflects what the Biltmore Championship Asheville is all about: bringing together local businesses, community organizations and residents to create something meaningful. Poppy found a way to celebrate Asheville's creativity while supporting important causes, and we're proud to help provide a platform that highlights the people and organizations that make this community so special," said Nate Goldsnider, Event Director of the Biltmore Championship Asheville.

“MANNA FoodBank is honored to be part of a collaboration that turns the excitement of a major sporting event into meaningful support for our neighbors,” said Joe Beckler, Chief Development Officer, MANNA FoodBank. “Especially in recent years, MANNA has been able to keep record numbers of our neighbors fed because of the generosity of people here in Western North Carolina and by supporters across the country who have stepped forward when our community has needed it most. This gift from Poppy Hand-Crafted Popcorn, the Biltmore Championship Asheville and The Cliffs at Walnut Cove reflects that same spirit of connection – bringing together local business, a national organization and our community to help ensure families have the food and support they need. We’re deeply grateful to be included in a partnership that demonstrates how much more is possible when people come together for one another.”

The limited-edition Poppy popcorn will be available for purchase during the Biltmore Championship Asheville and at Biltmore Estate. The custom bags will also be included in welcome gifts for players, their teams and others visiting Asheville throughout tournament week.

Following the tournament, a limited number of special-edition bags will be available on Poppy's website beginning September 21, while supplies last.

"What started as a popcorn bag became something much bigger," Frank said. "It's a small example of what's possible when we stop asking only, 'What's in this partnership for us?' And
