Volunteer Committees
Player Transportation volunteers are responsible for transporting players and their families in official tournament vehicles before, during, and after the tournament. In addition to providing safe and reliable transportation, committee members assist with vehicle inventory, as well as the distribution and retrieval of tournament cars. Typical assignments include driving players and from Asheville airports, private residences and other designated locations throughout the area.
*Player Transportation volunteers must be at least 25 years old and are subject to a background check.
The committee's main function is to introduce the Players as they begin each round. The committee is also responsible for distributing score cards, informing the players of the order of play, introducing the Honorary Observers, and lastly keeping in close communication with TOUR Rules Officials as to any delays or disruptions in play.
PLEASE NOTE: Strong public speaking skills and appropriate voice and inflection are required as there are no microphones or speakers. Announcers should have an acute knowledge of current PGA TOUR and International players; you should be able to identify them and properly pronounce their names. This committee requires long periods of standing in the sun without shade and is required to wear a sports coat while making announcements.
Tournament Round Walking Scorers will accompany each group of players during tournament rounds and will record the scores and statistics of play on a handheld scoring device.
PLEASE NOTE: Walking Scorer volunteers must be able to walk all 18 holes with their group and must understand basic stroke counting. Shifts will be outside in direct sunlight and the elements.
Standard Bearers will accompany each group of players during tournament rounds and display their scores in relation to par on a cumulative basis on a standard (small scoreboard).
PLEASE NOTE: Standard Bearer volunteers must be no younger than 13 and no older than 18 as of Tuesday, September 15, 2026. Standard Bearers must be able to carry the standard (weight approximately 5 to 7 pounds) for all 18 holes with their group and must understand basic stroke counting. Volunteers must select only one shift each day during tournament rounds, Thursday - Sunday. Shifts will be outside in direct sunlight and the elements.
This committee plays a critical role in enabling ShotLink to collect and distribute real-time scoring and statistical data. ShotLink Mobile Spotters assist by helping track ball flight off the tee and locating and flagging shots that miss the fairway or green. Their efforts directly support the delivery of real-time distance data and statistics to scoreboards, television broadcasts, internet platforms, gaming systems, and mobile applications. Volunteers in this role should have a basic understanding of golf and demonstrate a strong commitment to timeliness, accuracy, and attention to detail. Effective teamwork and communication are essential. All Mobile Spotters must be physically capable of walking their assigned hole for the duration of their shift, often in varied weather conditions. A key responsibility is quickly locating shots as this is vital for ensuring accurate shot location data.
PLEASE NOTE: Volunteers must work all day Thursday - Sunday. Shifts will be outside in direct sunlight and the elements. Volunteers must complete a short online training course, attend a short virtual or in-person training session prior to tournament week, and complete a ShotLink disclosure form.
The Practice Grounds Committee will provide gallery control of all practice areas, around the clubhouse and designated autograph zones. Volunteers will regulate access to and from all practice facilities for players, tournament officials and other properly credentialed guests, including media. Volunteers will identify golfers and position name plates. Volunteers may be asked to transport golfers, manufacturer representatives and coaches to and from the Practice Grounds.
PLEASE NOTE: Practice Grounds volunteers must be able to stand, walk and move around for extended periods of time. Shifts will be outside, in direct sunlight and the elements. General golf knowledge and etiquette is desirable.
Disabled Guest Services volunteers will provide cart transportation for disabled spectators to and from the bus drop at the main entrance and disabled parking to designated areas located on the golf course.

Members of Gallery Management will be located outside of the ropes at tees and greens to assist with managing crowds and crowd noise. These volunteers will also assist with operating crosswalks and managing ropes.

The Commissary Committee will distribute beverages and coolers on course and to appropriate committees, players and venues.
PLEASE NOTE: Some lifting/strenuous activity may be required, as this committee requires lifting of items such as ice, beverages, and coolers. Shifts will be outside in direct sunlight and the elements.
Uniform Distribution & Volunteer HQ Committee will inventory and distribute volunteer apparel. In addition, they will be responsible for creating credential packages and providing office assistance as needed. This committee will manage the uniform/credential distribution area, apparel exchanges, sales and returns, and credential replacement when necessary. As well as help manage volunteer headquarters, providing volunteers with information, directions and a friendly smile.
PLEASE NOTE: Volunteers on this committee will need to be available prior to tournament week to assist with Uniform Distribution and Credential packaging. Some lifting/strenuous activity may be required. (Uniform Distributions dates to be announced later)
Operations will help PGA TOUR team with pre-tournament set up, it will include but not limited to, building furniture, setting furniture helping PGA TOUR with any operational needs.
PLEASE NOTE: this committee will work prior to tournament week and will include manual labor.
The Golf Carts Committee will control inventory and distribution of tournament golf carts pre-tournament, during and post tournament. This committee will also help manage cart maintenance, including charging and upkeep.
